PC is likely the most popular tool used for gaming nowadays. Even the hardcore console fans often still own a PC, for either gaming or other purposes. Despite all the fuss about what’s better, the technical capabilities and the adaptability and upgradeability of PC is unmatched by any other device.
The vast majority of all the games made make their way onto the PC, usually at first launch. The user base of PC is simply vastly greater than that of gaming consoles and the number of game genres which can easily be played on the PC can’t be matched either.
PC v Consoles
The eternal debate among gamers is the one of whether PC or the consoles are better. While subjective opinion may sway you to say consoles, the reality is that the vast majority of games look, feel and sound better on the PC and this is naturally due to the higher technical capabilities of the machines.
The one area where consoles undoubtedly win is the cost, as the console itself will usually cost you many times less than a good gaming PC. Still, a good PC can also be used for work, school and a host of other tasks, while gaming consoles for the most part remain exactly that.
Competitive Gaming On PC
When it comes to competitive gaming, PC is also the number one platform. Many of the most popular eSports such as Dota 2, League of Legends or Counter Strike: GO are exclusive to PC gamers, while most others such as the Call Of Duty games can be played on both the PC and the consoles, with the PC versions usually looking a lot better and running smoother.
This is why all the major eSports organisations throw a ton of PC based tournaments each year and why the consoles are struggling in the eSports arena. The adaptability of the PC is simply too great and there is little doubt PC is here to stay as the best gaming platform for quite a while.
