The North America 2016 Road to BlizzCon is a result of the collaboration between Major League Gaming and Blizzard Entertainment that was one of the biggest eSports tournament this year. Since it was one of the biggest events this year in the world of professional gaming it was expected that streaming services like MLG.tv as well as Twitch would be streaming the action from this event and they did.
Road To Blizzcon –World Of Warcraft’s Top Competition
The North America 2016 Road to BlizzCon featured competitions in one of the most popular games in the world of professional video gaming, World of Warcraft. Having millions and millions fans all around the world, World of Warcraft has become one of the most popular games when it comes to the world of eSports competitions.
The competition was held in Columbus, Ohio in two time periods. The first event took place in June and July of 2016 while the second occurred on October 8th and October 9th of the same year. Columbus is a well known location for all fans of the professional video gaming because it has hosted many different and very important eSports events throughout their brief history.
The Prize Pool
The format of the tournament included three qualifier cups and each of those qualifying cups feature the prize pool of $6.000. These qualifying cups were held back in June and July and the two best teams advanced to the American Regional which saw six teams from North America and one teams from Latin America and one from New Zealand and Australia facing each other for the prize pool of 100,000 dollars. Beside the prize pool, the winner of this competition also gained the right to participate at the Arena World Championship finals that will be held at the BlizzCon 2016.
