This competition was hosted by the MLG Arena located in Columbus in Ohio and it was held from May 19th to May 22nd and it saw 8 teams participating and competing in the matches. Being of the most popular games in the history, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive proved to be the right choice when it came to the organization of the eSports competition in this game.
The Main Information
Major League Gaming over the years has transformed into the leading force when it comes to the organization of the eSports events and eSports competition. MLG CS:GO Americas Minor Championship generated a lot of attention among the fans of the game as well as among the fans of the teams that have been professionally playing video games. At this competition, teams will be competing for the prize pool of 50,000 dollars which is more than with other similar events of this importance. Besides the prize pool, teams will also be competing for the place in the Major LAN Qualifier that was held later this year.
In May of 2016, just 10 days or so before the main event, Major League Gaming announced which teams will be participating in this competition. There were four teams that have qualify for this event through some other similar events while the remaining four teams received invitation to participate at this event. The teams that qualify for this event were Team SoloMid, Winterfox, and Without A Roof from North American Qualifiers and WinOut from the South America Qualifiers while the four teams that received invitation were Tempo Storm, NRG eSports, OpTic Gaming and Selfless Gaming.
