European Gaming League hosted the Call of Duty World League Challenge Division tournament called EGL Open – London 2016 and it was played offline. The entire time before the tournament and during the very tournament eyes of the entire video gaming world were on the London tournament. This event was held between March 5 and March 6. The teams were competing for the prize pool of 25,000 dollars.
The EGL Open – London 2016 was held in London, United Kingdom. The venue for the event was The Old Truman Brewery that was located in the walking distance from many rail and metro station that enable the fans and spectators to access the venue very easily. Besides being the great opportunity to see some great video gaming matches, fans and spectators from other parts of the world had the opportunity to enjoy the city of London because the venue of the event is located in the Central London.
On the first day of the competition will see 32 teams placed in eight group of four battling out against each other. Each group had one Pro Division teams and the remaining three teams were from the Challenge Division. The top two ranked teams from each of the groups advanced to the single elimination bracket on day two with the format of the competition remaining the same until the very end of the tournament. The winner of the tournament went home with 10,000 dollars in the award money.
