Call of Duty MLG Anaheim Open came to be through the collaboration of Major League Gaming and Call of Duty World League. This competition was presented once again by PlayStation 4. Teams such as Rise Nation, FaZe Clan, Dream Team, Cloud 9, Team SoloMid as well as many others participated in this competition.
This competition was held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim from June 10 to June 12. 96 amateur video gaming teams came together with 12 professional video gaming Call of Duty World League teams at this location in order to compete in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III tournament. All these teams battled for the prize of pool of 100,000 dollars. These teams will compete in a Double Elimination Open Bracket format as well as in Pool Play and Double Elimination Championship Bracket. This event might be characterized as one of the most important events for those players and teams who are collecting Call of Duty World League Pro Points in order to qualify for the official Call of Duty Championship.
The fans had the opportunity to be at the location and watch the matches with one restriction concerning the age of spectators. Those spectators had to be 13 years old but they had to have a consent form from their parents while the spectators younger than 16 had to be accompanied by one or both parents of their legal guardians. For those who we unable to attend the competition, a live streaming of the matches was provided and those fans were able to watch the competition through the streaming services such as MLG.tv, twitch.com and in-game through the Live Event Viewer feature of the PlayStation 4.
