Call of Duty players had an amazing year in 2017 and the expectations are high for the one that has just started. The first important competition of 2018 was this weekend's Call of Duty 2,000 series tournament, one that was eventually won by Rise Nation. The team had a flawless performance throughout the event and in the final stage played against Team Kaliber. Their opponents gave them a run for their money, but in the end they had no choice, but to bow out gracefully from the competition.
Rise Nation Defeats Team Kaliber 3-1
The Call of Duty tournament final was played in a best-of-five series, and it was Rise Nation that won the opening match. The second round was far more contested and when it was over players knew that this series has tremendous potential. That’s because Team Kaliber quickly rebounded and showed its intention of fighting until the bitter end. With the score tied, Rise Nation rose to the challenge in the third match and staged an incredible comeback to take the lead.
Team Kaliber crumbled under pressure and were unable to push the series into a decisive round, by losing on Sainte Marie du Mont Hardpoint. Four matches after the grand final started, Rise Nation was crowned winner of the NA CWL 2K championship. This brings them a step closer to the CWL New Orleans Open, the first major event of 2018, scheduled to start on January 12.
