OG Wins the Dota 2 MDL Macau Minor Championship

OG and TNC confirm their status as favorites by qualifying for the Dota 2 MDL Macau Minor Championship final. Given their performance throughout the tournament, it was difficult even for punters to come up with a likely winner. OG started with the first chance despite not winning any Minor title this season and they were able to outshine opponents in a clean sweep.

TNC started the opening game on the back foot and played it safe, trying not to fall behind the curve once again. It has happened to them earlier in the tournament to make mistakes early on, which then forced them to claw their way back in the game. They knew that against OG any mistake is twice as costly, but despite their prudence, the opening match was lost.

A March to Victory for OG

Boosted by their victory in the opening game, the favorites played more aggressively in the second round and took the lead early. They dominated all lanes from the first minute and capitalized on this advantage, despite the heroics of TNC. At no point doing this match were the underdogs in the position of turning around the series and they had to concede into straight matches.

The MDL Macau prize pool was significant for an event scheduled this late in the year. Nearly $200,000 was split among the top nine teams, with the winners claiming the lion’s share of $130,000. TNC had to settle for half the amount and 90 DCP, whereas the winners received 150 points.
