Dota 2 fans are looking forward for the ESL One Katowice, a major tournament dedicated to their favorite game. It has a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million and a total of eight teams will be invited directly. Just as many will have to claw their way to the LAN event, while one team is still expected to secure a direct invite. The latest to join the lucky group of teams confirmed for the event is Vici Gaming, one of the most successful squads in 2017.

    More Chances for Qualifying Teams

ESL One Katowice organizers decided to invite directly just eight teams, while eight more would fight for a chance to play at the major event. Initially, their intention was to invites 10 teams, which makes it even more interesting to see who seek US the last invite. Apparently, the organizers are trying to make sure that the quality of the roster will be top-notch. In order to achieve that, they decided to invite the top seven teams in the prestigious Dota Pro Circuit.

OG players are probably upset to see that they haven’t received an invite yet, given the fact that they are tied for the seventh place with Vici Gaming. Na’Vi are among the hopefuls even though they are outside top eight, so there’s a chance for them to go through qualifiers. This is only likely to delay the inevitable, since these highly competitive Dota 2 teams can cruise to a spot at the ESL One Katowice. The qualifiers start this weekend with the open stage, while the closed regional qualifiers will conclude on January 12.
