The DreamHack Masters: Malmö 2017 Counterstrike Global Offensive tournament will debut on August 30. It will run until September 3 and will bring together 16 of the best CS:GO teams to Sweden for a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000. That’s a lot of money to be won and all 12 teams have received a direct invitation from the organizers.
The LAN finals will have a traditional double elimination bracket, with teams competing in a best of one series during the group stage. Once the elimination rounds begin, the teams will play a best-of-three series, with single elimination matches. Squads from all regions are present at the event, after the Asian, European and North American qualifiers have concluded.
Virtus.pro Hopes for another Title
The team from Poland has emerged victorious in the last DreamHack event that took place in Las Vegas. Virtus.pro will be back in the mix for a share of the $250,000, but they will have tough competitors. North and Astralis are the Danish teams in the lineup, while Sweden will also have two squads called Fnatic and Ninjas in Pijamas.
G2 Esports from France and Faze Clan are the other teams from Europe and the lineup is completed by SK Gaming, Immortals, Gambit Esports and Natus Vincere. This is the most important Counterstrike Global Offensive tournament this autumn and also the one featuring the biggest guaranteed prize pool. Millions of players are expected to watch the games live and after the tournament comes to an end.
