Chinese Counter-Strike Global Offensive Players can Enjoy it for Free

There is finally some good news for Chinese Counter-Strike Global Offensive players. They will be able to play their favorite game for free on stream starting this week, but only after they verify their identity. The latest game update makes CS:GO free to play for Chinese residents, which represents a major milestone for the fans of the first-person shooter. Perfect World is the game publisher that will facilitate the access of local players to the action-packed online games. The only requirement is for players to go through the process of identity verification using Perfect World as a conduit.

    Paid Licenses also Available

Now that Counter-Strike Global Offensive can be played for free China, it is expected that players won’t hesitate to verify their identity. Those who decide not to do it or are unable can purchase the game license and enjoy the first-person shooter like regular consumers. The identity verification also has the advantage of granting players access to Prime-only matchmaking games. The system is virtually identical to the one used by Steam, but it doesn’t require a smart phone or tablet.

Valve expects that the number of players from China will surge now that free access to the game is granted through Perfect World. Unfortunately for those who keep a close eye on the ladder count, the high number of Chinese players won’t make an impact in this area. That’s because they will use Perfect World instead of the Steam Client and the two game publishers will run in parallel.
